THE PRODUCTS THAT GIVE US THE BEST RESULTS ON FLOATING FLOORBOARDS

Below we show you the products that, used correctly, have given us the best results over the years. We're not just talking about shine, but about preserving the floor.

SPECIFIC FLOORBOARD CLEANERS (SAFEST OPTION)

Whenever possible, as professionals we recommend specific cleaners for floating floorboards or laminate flooring. They are formulated to clean without leaving residue or damaging the protective finish.

They are especially recommended for:

• Regular cleaning
• Homes with children or pets
• Light or delicate flooring

VINEGAR (OCCASIONAL USE, HEAVILY DILUTED)

White or apple cider vinegar can only be used occasionally and heavily diluted. Although it's a popular home remedy, it is not ideal for frequent use, since its acidity can affect the finish over time.

How to use it correctly:

• 5 litres of warm water
• 1 or 2 small caps of vinegar
• Well-wrung mop

We never recommend using pure vinegar or regularly combining it with oils.

Linseed oil (only in specific cases)

Linseed oil can be used on very worn natural wood floors, but it is not suitable for laminate floating floorboards.

On floorboards with a protective layer, oil can create a slippery film and attract dirt. That's why we only recommend it under professional guidance.

COMMERCIAL WAXES AND POLISHES

Products such as parquet waxes or polishes can restore shine, but should not be used as regular cleaners.

Recommended use:

• Occasionally
• On compatible floors
• Strictly following the manufacturer's instructions

Overuse of waxes is one of the main causes of dull, marked floors.

PRODUCTS WE DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR FLOATING FLOORBOARDS

From experience, these products end up causing problems:

• Ammonia
• Bleach
• Generic floor cleaners
• Steam
• Excess water

These products can cause swelling, loss of shine or open joints.

How to properly clean floating floorboards (step by step)

1. Sweep or vacuum with a soft brush to remove dust and grit.
2. Use a mop lightly dampened, never soaking wet.
3. Apply a specific cleaner or warm water with a few drops of neutral product.
4. Ventilate well for quick drying.

Frequent, gentle cleaning is always better than occasional aggressive cleaning.

What about parquet? Important differences

Although they are often confused, parquet and floating floorboards are not cleaned the same way. Natural parquet can undergo treatments such as oils or specific varnishes, but always with caution and depending on the finish.

If in doubt, it's best to consult before applying any product.
